Letter to my grandfather.

Dear Grandad

It has been so long since you departed this life, I was too young to remember the day the angels called you home to rest, yet you are still ever-present in my mind. It is so hard to believe that you could miss someone you never knew but your absence has shaped the fabric of my being more than you could ever know.

I think about you often, I wonder what you would think of me now, I wonder if you would be proud of me. You fought for my freedom during the war and the lord never gave you a chance to see me enjoy it. I am inspired by my mother's memory of your courage, of your convictions and of your spirit.

There are times when I look up at the sky and wonder if you are looking down on me, guiding me through the trials and tribulations of my life with a gentle touch of persuasion, sometimes I just wish you were.

As the day of your departure draws near, there is nothing that I wouldn't give to hold you in my arms or just to talk to you or even just to see your face. It has been 25 years since you were called home for your final rest and now more than ever I wish you were here.

I love you Grandad

Planet Earth

Planet Earth can be a beautiful place

With scenery that’s full of grace

The human race took away her glory

With wars that rage on in far away lands

We all have blood on our hands

We sit by in ignorance as people die

Many people have died as I write

Many more are suffering strife

We think our lives are stressful

What about those who don’t know?

What about those who are starving?

What about those we hurt?

I dream of the day when we all hold hands,

The day we make the planet beautiful again,

The day we get her glory back!

Poem for Obama

In America today, a man won an election.

He made history, but he is just a man.

He gave America a victory.

He gave America a new hope.

He gave America her pride back.

For just one night, all eyes were on a man.

Now all eyes are on a President.

He gave the world a victory.

He gave the world a new hope

He gave the world her pride back.

Now is the time for change.

Now is the time for peace.

He has a hard job ahead of him.

He will have the weight of the world on him.

He has the courage to win.

This man needs us to stand behind him

To stand up and be counted

To shout out and say,

“We have the courage to change”

Letter to an Unknown Love

When I cry, will you comfort me?
When I laugh, will you laugh with me?
When I need you, will you come to me?
My unknown Love

I'll travel far and wide
To be by your side
From you I cannont hide
My unknown love

Your face I cannot see
Your name I do not know
Until you find me
My unknown love

And when you cry, I'll comfort you
And when you laugh, I'll laugh with you
And when you need me, I'll run to you
My Unknown love.
